Arfan has over 20 years of senior leadership and management experience in the Public (Local Government) and Voluntary Sectors. During his career Arfan has worked in a number of senior roles in Yorkshire, the Midlands, the North East and London covering a number of subject matters including; Community Safety, Diversity/Equal Opportunities, Hate Crime, Housing, Mental Health, Employment, Research & Development, Information Knowledge and corporate/strategic policy development. Arfan has a track record in leading transformational change including efficiency programmes and has extensive Programme and Project Management experience. For over 25 years Arfan has led on and worked in a number of multi-agency and partnership forums that support better outcomes for service users. Arfan is an advocate of designing and delivering services in collaboration with and led by service users.

Sharon Brown
Sharon BrownBusiness Development Director

Sharon joined the Senior Management Team in January 2021 as Business Development Director and is responsible for delivering Touchstone’s Business Development Strategy and ensuring the organisation’s sustainability in line with its values.  Sharon has worked in Operations, Development and Communications for a number of Housing Associations and Charities in Yorkshire, managing and developing a number of health & wellbeing and homelessness services including services for Asylum Seekers & Refugees, Women, Older People, and People in contact with the Criminal Justice system.

Zoe Bridge
Zoe BridgeFinance Director

Zoe joined the Senior Management Team in Dec 2019 as Finance Director and is responsible for the effective leadership and management of Touchstone’s financial operations to ensure financial stability and maximum return on resources. Zoe previously worked at The NHS Confederation for 10 years in a variety of development roles leading up to being the Head of Financial Management after gaining her CIMA qualification.

Kathryn Hart

Kathryn Hart has worked for Touchstone for several years in different roles, supported by Touchstone’s commitment to staff development, starting off as Officer Manager, then HR Manager and then onto her existing role of HR Director. Kathryn loves working for Touchstone as she feels she can really make a difference to people’s lives by supporting staff to reach their potential, enjoy their work and support staff to be themselves at work, which in turn supports Touchstone to deliver excellent services to service users and diverse communities. Kathryn has supported Touchstone to be a top 10 Best not for Profit Organisation since 2017 and to be in the Top 100 since 2013 as well as Investors in People – Platinum.

Jim Leyland
Jim LeylandOperations Director – Inclusion

Jim has a breadth of experience in working with people who have mental health problems at both an operational and strategic level, working in the public, voluntary and regulatory sectors. He is a qualified social worker and has supported individuals and families through challenges adopting a strength based and inclusive approach. Jim has managed significant transformation projects including the implementation of the Care Act, personalisation and integration in management roles with local authorities. He has led on developing co-production at Touchstone and with partners across Leeds; including organising annual conferences and promotes inclusion and user involvement. He is the lead for safeguarding in the organisation and has worked with teams to develop safe working practices. He also leads on quality assurance to promote personal and team responsibility and to ensure learning and continuous improvement.

Sophie Hailwood
Sophie HailwoodInterim Operations Director – Quality & Performance

Sophie joined the Senior Management Team on an interim basis in August 2021. Sophie started her career in the third sector in London where she worked in mental health and homelessness for nine years, managing supported accommodation projects for people with severe and enduring mental health issues. In 2017 Sophie moved to Yorkshire and joined Touchstone. Sophie joins SMT from her post as Operations Manager for Liaison and Diversion in West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, bringing knowledge around mental health and criminal justice. Sophie is an experienced and qualified trainer with a passion for leadership and staff development.
