Yorkshire’s businesses, charities and public relations organisations are invited to attend a service to remember Carol Rennard (Arthur) – a highly talented and popular communications director who recently passed away following a long illness.
A service to celebrate Carol’s life and career will take place at Trinity Church, Tunstall, Tuesday August 27, 2.30pm followed by a gathering at The Kings Head, Richmond. The family is encouraging attendees to wear colourful attire.
Described by clients and colleagues as a consummate and caring professional who always went the extra mile, Carol amassed over three decades of experience as a strategic PR and communications consultant and trainer, working at senior levels in house and with award-winning agencies.
A graduate of Common Purpose and former trustee of Leeds Mind and Community First Yorkshire, Carol’s particular expertise was helping charities and voluntary sector organisations communicate the impact of their work.
Leeds Mind chief executive, Helen Kemp, said: “An insightful and committed trustee with Leeds Mind for almost six years, Carol’s expertise made a real difference to our mission of supporting those with mental health difficulties. Always positive and a genuine, lovely person through and through, she will be greatly missed.”
Alison Lowe, chief executive of Touchstone added: “Carol was a warm, wonderful woman who had a brilliant smile and a generous heart. She came to Touchstone in 2017 full of ideas about how to make us shine. As successful as she was in this endeavour, no-one shone as brightly as she did, spreading her joy to the whole organisation and we will miss her every day. Thank you for your friendship Carol, R.I.P.”
A champion of raising industry standards, Carol was also actively involved with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations where she was a former chair.
A justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/carol-rennard-arthur set up in her memory is receiving donations which will be distributed among the charities that she actively supported.
Carol’s career included key roles with PR agencies Northern Lights and Quest PR before working as an independent communications consultant and trainer.
Sharon Cain, director, Quest PR. said: “Carol was an exceptional and caring lady and an inspiration, personally and professionally, to everyone whose lives she touched. Our thoughts and wishes are with her husband Roger, son Simon, daughter Meredith the wider family and friends and colleagues.”
