Update on the Recruitment and Inclusion project
This project has now come to an end and employment support is no longer available through this project. To read more about the evaluation of this project, please visit our blog: https://touchstonesupport.org.uk/evaluation-of-recruitment-and-inclusion-project-with-west-yorkshire-health-and-care-partnership/.
Touchstone has partnered with the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership to address and improve the workforce diversity and inclusion in three mental health trusts in West Yorkshire:
- Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust
- South-West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust
- Bradford District Care Foundation Trust.
The overarching aim of the project is to support people from all backgrounds into roles with these trusts.
The project has three key parts:
- We work with the Trusts to review recruitment and retention processes to make them more accessible and inclusive. This involves addressing barriers and suggesting improvements in areas, like application forms, interviews, digital inclusion, and reasonable adjustments. To make these changes, we draw from Touchstone’s experience in creating inclusive employment processes and feedback from applicants.
- We offer one-to-one employment support. We support people from groups that are under-represented in the NHS workforce. We aim to help people find suitable roles, write applications, and prepare for interviews. We also support people to share any adjustments they may need e.g. around any disabilities, mental health conditions, or language needs they have.
- We also host virtual, and in-person NHS inclusive recruitment events. Our aim for these events is to support people from all backgrounds into roles with the three mental health NHS Trusts.
