Touchstone Outreach & Prevention Service (TOPS) was developed out of a multi-agency working group looking at issues and concerns in Harehills. This centred on the issue of problem street drinking.
Touchstone was asked to explore options. As a result, Touchstone developed a pilot project to engage with people in the area who were suspected to be drinking locally. This was agreed with the multi-agency group to deliver outreach to engage potential support around alcohol dependency.
Weekly outreach sessions took place involving engagement with the street drinkers in the Harehills area to develop trust and establish positive relationships while offering immediate support where possible.
Following the success of the outreach work and drop in in Harehills, Touchstone received funding to continue the project for a further 12 months from 1st April 2022 and expand delivery to also include a drop in the City Centre.
