This year’s Mindful Employer conference will give employers advice and guidance on how to embed positive mental health into the workplace and create sustainable employee wellbeing. Be part of challenging perceptions about mental health within your organisation, look at the different ways you can start your journey and develop good practice further.
This event has been made possible by Leeds City Council funding and is not your usual conference; we’ll be having fun and interactive wellbeing activities, along with keynote sessions, employer led workshops and lived experience stories. At the end of the day you’ll have practical advice to take away and put into context within your own organisation.
Keynote Speakers will include Paul Farmer CEO of National Mind, Tom Riordan CEO of Leeds City Council, Catherine Ward Health Improvement Principal, and Hannah Patten Mindful Employer Coordinator for Leeds. The Conference will be chaired by Helen Kemp CEO of Leeds Mind and we welcome lived experience stories from Paul Lanfear (Property Angels) and John Bradfield (West Yorkshire Police). Employer led workshops will be delivered by The Canal River Trust, Irwin Mitchell LLP, Leeds Mind, Thrive Law, Touchstone and Yorkshire Building Society.
By attending this conference, you will:
- Acquire the skills and knowledge you need to make mental health sustainable at work.
- Learn new ways to support staff with mental health issues in your workplace, thereby impacting positively on productivity and sickness absence.
- Develop practical skills to manage stress – both for yourself and for the people you manage or work with.
- Link with other employers (local and national) to discover how they’re improving their workplace wellbeing.
You will attend two workshops sharing real life examples and have the opportunity for group discussion; helping you to develop meaningful ideas for your workplace. Themes include:
- Employee wellbeing in the workplace
