The latest annual report from the Kirklees Mental Health Advocacy and Peer Brokerage services is available below. The report was written and compiled by Jane Mackay, the service manager.
The Advocacy Service works with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties to speak up for themselves. Our team of experienced advocates support people on wards and in the community, empowering them to know their rights, to have a voice and make informed choices. We support a range of one to
one, group and self advocacy opportunities and work with people of all ages (18+), including those living with dementia.
The Peer Brokerage Service offers free, independent advice and practical support with putting together support packages for individuals which are funded by their direct payment personal budget from Kirklees Council. Our Brokerage Service is designed and delivered by people with experience of mental health difficulties and of using mental health services. We help people to choose the kind of support they want and to work out what’s best for them and their recovery.
