Yorkshire mental health charity Touchstone celebrates achieving coveted three star accreditation in the annual Sunday Times Best Companies to Work survey in recognition of its extraordinary levels of employee engagement.
The charity, ranked 8th in The Sunday Times Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For 2019, was also given the Discovering Potential award for the third year running and the Giving Something Back award for first time.
This is the seventh year running that Touchstone has been in the top 100 – and the third in the top 10 – of the survey, which measures how engaged people are at work and how they feel about their employer. Three star accreditation is only given to those employers with exceptionally high scores in the survey’s Best Companies Index and represents organisations that “truly excel”.

Touchstone provides mental health and wellbeing services to over 6,000 people annually throughout West and South Yorkshire – mainly to Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities and often in partnership with other organisations. Touchstone has grown its turnover from £3m to £4.7m in three years and recruited 40 members of staff last year to help deliver new mental health contracts.
Touchstone regularly wins national accolades for its best practice in diversity and inclusion. In addition to the Sunday Times Best Companies survey, the charity is ranked 20th in the Stonewall Top 100 Employers list, and in December 2018 – for the third consecutive year – it came top in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List.
