Volition (the umbrella organisation for voluntary sector mental health service providers in Leeds) has published a special edition of their newsletter for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans) History Month this February. The purpose of the month is to mark the achievements, as well as the challenges, of people who identify in any of the LGBT categories and also progress made for greater recognition and equality for LGBT people.
Of course, Touchstone is very proud to see it’s recent achievement of Stonewall Top 100 Employer status reported in the newsletter, but there’s lots of other important, useful and thought-provoking articles inside.
It covers the positive – services and groups that already provide a supportive and open-mided environment – and the negative – the continued presence of discrimination, hate crime and fear.
All in all, a recommended read.
