Background to the research This research was initiated by the BME Advisory Group to the Mental Health Modernisation Team (BMEAG), and paid for by Leeds Adult Social Care (formerly, Leeds Social Services). It was commissioned to inform decisions on how to spend the monies that were freed up by the closure of the Black Mental Health Resource Centre in 2004.
